Atheists Sue to Take ‘God’ Out of Obama Inauguration| Christianpost.com.

Proclaim the Truth’s Take: What can I say, but wow?!  I am sure that there are plenty of atheist’s who are willing to live in a land where the majority of people are Christian in some respect, and are willing to do so without trying to change the laws and culture to suit them.  It is just that you never hear them voicing their opinion when things like this happen.  Hopefully, this lawsuit will fail as it has previously, but you never know.  In fact, at some point, I would say it is likely to succeed given the prevailing social winds.  Pure and simple, it is a shame.

ProclaimtheTruth’s take:

First things first, let’s be clear. I am not necessarily for the presentation of Creation Science in public schoolrooms. Why would I? A public teacher most like would simply impugn it anyway. That being said, why should we not allow open discussion? Isn’t that what scientific thought is supposed to represent?

A Plate for Everyone, Except Pro-Lifers

15 Nov

Here is an article from One News Now about a case in Illinois involving a group who wanted to create a pro-life license plate.  And while the state has a number of other causes approved as a license plate, and the money would go towards a good cause, the state kept saying no.  Now it is going to the U.S. Supreme Court.

On Halloween, Jesus is too "Distracting" for Some

1 Nov

Fox News is reporting that an eighth grader in New Jersey was sent home from school on Halloween for dressing as Jesus.  Say what?!  Really, see the article here.  Apparently, the costume was too distracting.  It is simply amazing that in a country that espouses freedom and plurality, the one figure that is not allowed to be a part of that plurality is the one that inspired our democratic ideals in the first place.
