Dear Friend,
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Brian Patrick Dufala. This blog is an offshoot of a prior site I was running (The Faithful Observer).
I originally started tinkering with websites several years ago when I was into politics and was a bit of a news hound. In time, the luster of politics wore off as I came to see the nasty side of the political circle. I perhaps also had a bit of a naive view of politics, always thinking of it as a trade of honor and integrity. I remember studying Abraham Lincoln and George Washington. I came to find out that we no longer have those kind of people in our political system. As I grew older, I found myself growing stronger spiritually. In time, I committed to Christ utterly and completely and decided to drop the political charade (not entirely).
I spend my time now, when I am not at my day job and not involved in family, writing and researching the Bible. So what is the goal? First, for an initial introduction to this blog, please see the opening article, “Proclaim the Truth: Opening Remarks.”
Now, my overarching goal is to proclaim the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ. While doing so, I also hope to counteract the prevailing winds of secularism and privatization by incorporating all aspects of society in the conversation. I do not believe in putting Christianity on the shelf while in public.
Second, I hope to bring together a broad world of Christianity from the many fields of apologetics, theology, sciences, and history. Some of this will be achieved simply by making you aware of content already out there on the net or elsewhere. And some of it will be achieved by my own contributions.
There is one thing I would also like to add. Although I have grown weary of the political world, it should not be assumed that I have completely withdrawn from the process. While my primary goal on this site is to provide information directly relating to Christianity, I will not shy away from the intersection of faith and the political and cultural norms. I firmly believe that it is the role of the Christian to shine God’s light into the world. I am committed to doing exactly that in an honest and forthright manner. Unfortunately, that does create a dilemma as there are some large disagreements amongst many evangelicals. Should a disagreement arise with my views, I welcome your feedback and comments and hope that we can deal with our differences with grace.
I also want to make a promise in regards to much of the content on this site. Sometimes you will come across sites on the internet, whether it be a political site, a scientific site, or a Christian site, where people talk about topics they have no business talking about. I promise not to be one of them. I know what my limitations are — so when I know that I do not know something, I won’t pretend I do. It is at those times where I will be honest with you and refer you onto someone else. As a former corporate trainer, that is something I learned early on. The people you are training can respect you if you’re honest and tell them you do not know an answer, but they will see right through you if you fake it.
I welcome you and hope you enjoy the site!
Faithfully,
Brian Patrick Dufala
